Pediatric Speech and Language Evaluation
Comprehensive speech and language testing is a great starting point for addressing concerns about your child's communication. I use a combination of formal (standardized) and informal (play-based, observational) assessment techniques to provide a holistic diagnosis and/or treatment plan.
Speech and Language Therapy
Providing a variety of different types of speech therapy, depending on a client's need. Examples include:
-speech articulation therapy (improving pronunciation of specific sounds or sound patterns)
- expressive language therapy (focusing on building vocabulary, putting words together, formulating sentences, improving grammar and language use)
- receptive language therapy (understanding language, following directions, auditory comprehension)
Accent Modification
The American Speech-Language Hearing-Association states that "accents (regional, foreign, or nonnative) are not a communication disorder. Accents are a natural part of spoken language, and every person has an accent." I provide accent modification as a means to help improve intelligibility, and NOT to eliminate a mainstream dialect of accent.
